Alcohol is suspected to be involved in a deadly crash in Lake County. Last Thursday afternoon, a car with three people inside was going north on State Route 29 at high speeds when the driver lost control of the sedan north of Western Mine Road. It went off the east side of the road and struck a tree. One passenger died at the scene while the driver and another passenger suffered major injuries and were taken to the hospital. The driver, though, died on Saturday. CHP found open alcohol containers in and around the car. An autopsy and toxicology report of the driver is pending.
