Point Fire Update Near Healdsburg: 1,207 Acres and 40-Percent Containment

As of 6:26 AM, Tuesday, June 18th, Cal Fire reports that the Point Fire near Healdsburg is 1,207 acres, and now 40-percent contained, increasing by 20-percent overnight. Cal Fire does have confirmed reports of structures destroyed and are working through damage inspections on the structure type and number. The fire has pushed down south towards Mountain View Ranch Rd.

An evacuation order is in place for zone SON-2E2. Crews are in structure defense along W Dry Creek Rd, north of Yoakim Bridge Rd.

There is a temporary evacuation shelter at Laguna High School at 7050 Covey Road in Forestville, the south parking lot.

The fire broke out around 12:30 PM Sunday afternoon just east of Lake Sonoma off of Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road. Cal Fire immediately responded with air tankers and fire crews.

An air advisory is in effect today due to the smoke from the fire. The County of Sonoma recommends that you wear N-95 or P-100 masks if you do go outside. Pets should stay indoors.
