The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has approved a series of cannabis tax reductions. The reductions apply to cannabis cultivators and manufacturers in unincorporated parts of the county. Starting in July, tax rates for indoor, outdoor and mixed light cultivation will slightly decrease. And, the tax rate for manufacturers will fall from three percent to one-and-a-half-percent. Retailers will see their tax rate increase from two to three percent. The changes partly come in light of declining prices affecting the cannabis industry. This is the third time the board has passed a rate reduction since the taxes began in 2017.
