Following a deadly crash, safety improvements are coming to Lakeville Highway in Petaluma. By the end of next week, the city is planning to install barriers at South McDowell Extension and Pine View Way, where those roads intersect Lakeville Highway. Neither intersection has a traffic signal. Last Thursday, a 79-year-old woman from Sonoma died in a crash. She was trying to turn west onto Lakeville Highway from Pine View Way and collided with an oncoming car.
