Dog Dies in a RV Fire in Rohnert Park Parking Lot

A dog died in a RV fire in Rohnert Park. On Wednesday morning just after 10 AM, a patrol officer found an parked RV on fire in the parking lot of 6145 Commerce Boulevard. The officer notified dispatch, then checked for any occupants in the RV, and found two dogs. The fire quickly grew in size and the officer was forced to back away due to exploding propane canisters. One dog managed to escape but the second died in the fire. Firefighters responded shortly afterwards and contained the blaze to the RV. The occupants of the RV were located nearby and offered resources through Catholic Charities due to losing their home. The cause of the fire is unknown however the occupants said they may have left a candle burning inside when they left.
