You may see smoke coming from the area of Cazadero, but don’t worry – it’s part of a prescribed burn. On Monday and Tuesday, Cal Fire will perform a prescribed burn on about 40 acres near a ridge west of Magic Mountain Road and south of Kidd Creek. It will occur each day beginning at 7 AM with crews hoping to wrap up by 9 PM. Due to the elevation and location, smoke will be visible from much of Sonoma County. Cal Fire has been conducting prescribed burns from the ridge since 2018. They are designed to reduce vegetation that could fuel wildfires.
