The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming its first female patrol lieutenant in nearly 20 years. Andy Salas, a 33-year law enforcement veteran, was sworn in yesterday during a ceremony at the Sheriff’s office. Salas, who was raised in Santa Rosa and graduated from El Molino High School, started at the Sheriff’s Office in 1996. The last female lieutenant was Jan McKinley, who was promoted to the rank in 1999.
