San Francisco Assemblyman Phil Ting says a bill heading to the Governor’s desk makes it clear that housekeepers are entitled to the same rights as any other employee.

AB-2314 calls for a makeover of the state’s Department of Labor Standards and Enforcement website and a hotline so it’s easier to find the information citizens need to understand labor laws. Ting says many of the 300-thousand domestic workers in California are immigrants, but even those who are undocumented are protected by the same labor laws.
