UPDATE: Calfire is Making Great Headway on the Pawnee Fire

UPDATE: July 3rd, 2018

The Pawnee fire in Lake County is now at 14-thousand-900 acres and containment is up to 80 percent. The blaze, which began on June 23rd, has destroyed 22 structures and is threatening 50 more as of today. Over 2,100 fire personnel are still on site from 49 fire crews utilizing 114 fire engines.

Fire behavior has diminished due to weather conditions allowing direct line construction and crews hope to take advantage of the decreased tempatures and higher humidity. A threat remains and the community of Double Eagle remains under a Mandatory Evacuation.
