Race enthusiasts often wonder how to get their car on the track at Sonoma Raceway. Now you can turn your fantasies into reality as the Sonoma chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) hosts the 4th annual Laps for Charity event on Saturday, Jan.21. This once-a-year-event invites you to take your car  for a few laps around the 12-turn road course: it doesn’t matter whether its a Corvette or a Mini-Van. 150-bucks gets you a pre-lap safety briefing with professional drivers, three lead-follow laps around the 2.52-mile circuit and a picture of your car on track. Proceeds benefit kids in need through Sonoma County youth organizations. SCC, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway, has distributed more than $5.5 million to Sonoma County youth groups since 2001.
